My priorities for the Board of Trustees:
One of the top priorities for the Board of Trustees should be improving Cornell’s fitness facilities. With over 25,000 students, our gyms—Noyes, Teagle, Helen Newman, and Toni Morrison—are often overcrowded, making it difficult for students to exercise. This lack of accessibility deters many from working out, despite the well-documented benefits of physical health in managing stress and academic pressure. Increased funding would allow for expanded facilities, better equipment, and extended hours. Additionally, Cornell should include fitness center memberships in tuition, a practice already implemented at many universities. The current $168 yearly membership fee creates an unnecessary barrier to student well-being.
A second priority is enhancing mental health resources. Long wait times and high demand highlight the need for more counselors, expanded wellness programs, and proactive outreach to ensure students receive the support they need.
A third priority is improving dining accessibility. Many students face limited food options, long lines, and restricted hours that do not align with busy academic schedules. Expanding meal plan flexibility, extending dining hall hours, and increasing diverse, affordable options will better serve students’ needs.
My experience:
My leadership roles and commitment to student advocacy make me well-suited for the Student Elected Trustee position. As a freshman and sophomore year representative in the ILR Student Government Association, I have actively worked to enhance student life, organizing events like a free ice-skating night for over 300 students during finals week. My role as an Admissions Student Ambassador has given me firsthand experience engaging with students, faculty, and administration to improve Cornell’s outreach and inclusivity. Additionally, my experience as a personal trainer at Cornell Fitness Centers has reinforced my passion for student well-being, aligning with my advocacy for better fitness facility access. As a second year Air Force ROTC cadet, I have developed discipline, integrity, and a strong sense of service. As Trustee, I will leverage these experiences to advocate for student needs, ensure transparency in decision-making, and foster a healthier, more accessible Cornell for all.
My interests:
In my free time, I’m passionate about fitness and recently became a personal trainer for the Cornell Fitness Centers to help others gain the same confidence and sense of empowerment that fitness has given me. I enjoy bodybuilding, long runs, and hiking around Ithaca’s scenic trails. In high school, I was a dedicated cross-country runner, wrestler, and tennis player, which instilled in me a strong work ethic and love for competition. Beyond fitness, I also enjoy playing random songs on the piano and watching anime with my friends. Whether it’s training, exploring the outdoors, or diving into new sheet music, I’m always looking for ways to challenge myself and stay active.
